1 Corinthians 9:16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the Gospel!
The following content is emphasizing the importance for Christians who are followers of Jesus to share the Gospel with the world.
If someone truly believes in Jesus, How can they hold back from sharing this news?
John 3:16-21 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
Jesus commandments in the Gospels, including
- Love one another. John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. Pray for your enemies The Bible teaches us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. In Matthew 5:43-48, Jesus says, “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”
In Luke 6:28, Jesus says, “Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. - “Repent your sins. Jesus did say to repent of your sins. In the book of Matthew, it is written that Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” 1. The Amplified Bible translation explains that repentance involves changing one’s inner self, regretting past sins, living life in a way that proves repentance, and seeking God’s purpose for one’s life
- Believe that Jesus is in the Father and Jesus made the world with His Father. John 1:1-14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 14:8-12 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves. “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. Take up your cross and follow me.
- Take up his cross, and follow Jesus. Mat 16:24-27 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works. Our cross is telling others about Jesus and His cross, so others can be saved. Go and make disciples. Mat 28:16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. Jesus’s last words to all of us. Please listen and obey. Tell others around you. Mat 28:17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. Mat 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
- Pray always. 1Th 5:17 pray without ceasing. I have found in my own life that it is possible to hear and be led by the Holy Spirit anytime anywhere. This allows us to be instruments in God’s hands during our daily lives. Love your neighbor as yourselfThe verse “Love your neighbor as yourself” is a commandment that appears in both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. It is mentioned in Leviticus 19:18 and Mark 12:30-3112. The verse is a call to love others with the same intensity and care that we love ourselves. It is a reminder to treat others with kindness, compassion, and respect, regardless of their background, beliefs, or social status. Here is the full text of the verse from Mark 12:30-31:Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[a] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] There is no commandment greater than these.
- Preach the Gospel. What Does the Bible Say About Preaching the Gospel? The Great Commission. Mar 16:14 Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. Anyone who truly believes has a burden and great desire to share the Gospel with others. Mar 16:15-16 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
- The Righteous Shall Live by Faith. Rom 1:16-17 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY (SHARING THIER) FAITH.” Act 10:42-43 And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead. To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins.”
- Continue gathering together. NOTstaying away from our worship meetings, as some habitually do. How can we fulfill this commandment of Jesus if we do not come together as a church body? John 13:34-35 “I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another. By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” Heb 10:23-27 Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works, not staying away from our worship meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near. For if we deliberately sin after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire about to consume the adversaries.
- Partake the Holy Communion. 1Co 11:23-25 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
Jesus also said the greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and the second greatest is to love your neighbor as yourself. If we love God, we love Jesus and if we love people then we do what Jesus told us to do. Tell them how they can get into heaven too.
